BILL BALFOUR

The Crier notes with regret the passing of Bill Balfour on 20th November.

Bill was a ‘character’ with a large circle of friends and was a ‘well kent’ face in Abernethy. He worked in the potato industry and was well known in the farming community. He was an excellent piper, and member of The Burns Club of Abernethy where his piping skills were often enjoyed.

A keen curler, he was a member of local clubs Falkland and Abdie Curling Clubs and was a senior committee member of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club. He was Convenor of the RCCC Indoor Grand Match in 2010, an event enjoyed by hundreds of curlers across Scotland.

Bill leaves daughter Katherine plus partner Ed- na and our sympathy goes out to them.
